Ketevan, Georgian Pianist


 Ketevan Kartvelishvili was born to a family of physicists in Tbilisi, Georgia. Her extraordinary talent was recognized at the age of five. When she was twelve, she made her debut performance with the Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra. Ketevan has won first place in numerous International Competitions in the USA including: the William C. Byrd Young Artists International Piano Competition held in Flint, Michigan, 2011; the 36th Young Artists Piano Concerto Competition in Kankakee, Illinois, 2012; the Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Scholarship Competition, 2013; the Jacob Flier International Piano Competition in New Paltz, New York, 2013; and the American Protege International Concerto Competition in New York City, 2014. Ketevan was a finalist in the Professional Category at the Seattle International Piano Competition, Seattle, WA, 2015. 


In 2017, Ketevan released her debut solo CD, "The Chase", Blue Griffin record label. She gave a performance at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in 2014 and performed at Benaroya Recital Hall in 2015. Ketevan gave a solo recitals at Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, the PianoForte Foundation, as well as performing in a live broadcast on WFMT, all in Chicago. Ketevan was invited as a guest solo artist in many other venues across the USA. 

Ketevan has performed with the Flint Symphony Orchestra, the Kankakee Valley Symphony Orchestra, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, the Glacier Symphony and Chorale,the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra, the Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest and the Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra.

In 2009, Ketevan moved to the United States and joined the world renowned Alexander Toradze Piano Studio at Indiana University South Bend. She received Artist and Performer Diplomas while studying there. She regularly participated Toradze's Studio recitals, as well as solo and chamber recitals. In 2010, she was awarded a Performer’s Certificate for her solo recital from Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts. 

Ketevan graduated from the Tbilisi State Conservatory where she received a B.M., an M.M., and an Assistantship. She was awarded third prize and a laureate title in the 5th Marco Polo International Piano Competition in Greece in 1999. That same year, she received a grant from the pianist Elisabeth Leonskaja. She regularly performed solo and chamber recitals all over Georgia and other countries in Europe.

Ketevan has studied under several masters, including Alexander Toradze, Tengiz Amirejibi, Rusudan Begishvili, and Eter Gunia.
